INCLEMENT WEATHER PROCEDURES
BEFORE SCHOOL – A bell will ring at 7:45 a.m.
- Teachers should be prepared to receive pupils in their classrooms at 7:45 a.m.
- Teachers, please take in the children whose rooms are not open.
- Teachers should make arrangements with their rainy-day partners to be relieved when necessary.
DURING RECESS
An announcement will be given just prior to recess to indicate the KIND of recess.
- Walking Recess
Pupils go to the yard for a "walking recess". NO EQUIPMENT
- Inclement Weather
Recess will be spent in the classrooms.
Teachers arrange with their partners so that everyone will have at
least a 10-minute short break.
If the children are on the yard and it starts to rain, a bell or announcement will be the signal for pupils to
go to the lunch pavilion to pick up.
DURING LUNCH
If it is too hot, raining, or the grounds are too wet to permit pupils on the yard, announcement will be made that we are on INCLEMENT WEATHER LUNCH (see schedule above)
- Come to lunch on time
- Pick up students promptly
